What a demolition method statement has to write down

Searchers want a demolition method statement they can put in a job folder. This is not a template for every country. It is the list of things that, if missing, make the folder folklore.

Write these, or do not claim you have a method

• What is being taken down, and what stays.
• Sequence in order (including make-safe, and any removal of fittings before structure).
• What is known vs assumed (size, mix, hidden tanks, possible asbestos).
• Written proof that power and services are made safe — or the job does not start.
• Neighbour vibration limit if anyone is next door.
• Who can stop the job, and on what signal.
• Where arisings go (dump, scrap, crush) with a basis for the cost.

• Charge, burden, spacing, or cut design.
• A public Run-simulation that pretends to be a method.
