Survey & capture

Measure and cite the basis — DemTools. DGCA drone papers are official, not ours.

Study notes. Not a certificate. Not a licence. Not NEBOSH, PESO, ISEE, or IDE. We never design the charge, spacing, or the cut. Site hours and statutory papers have no video substitute.

  1. Basic surveying — levels, total station, coordinate systems, control.

Control first. A floating tape is an assumed length. Write the instrument.

  2. Coordinate reference systems: WGS84, UTM, local grids, and why mixing them silently destroys accuracy.

Name the CRS. Mixing a phone GPS with a local grid is how a wall moves two metres on paper.

  3. DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate (India) — 40 h course, 18+, through a DGCA-approved RPTO. Legally required for commercial flying.

The certificate is theirs. We do not issue it.

  4. Flight planning for survey: overlap, GSD, altitude, patterns.

Overlap, GSD, altitude — a pretty mosaic is not a measure until control is written.

  5. Ground control points and accuracy assessment; RTK/PPK.

GCP or RTK/PPK stated. Accuracy claimed without a check is assumed.

  6. Photogrammetry processing — Pix4D / DroneDeploy / OpenDroneMap / RealityCapture.

Processing is not a take-off. Export a cited volume or do not send a number.

  7. LiDAR basics and when it beats photogrammetry (vegetation, interiors, verticals).

Processing is not a take-off. Export a cited volume or do not send a number.

  8. Volume and quantity take-off from a point cloud — this is the estimating superpower.

Every tonne still has a source. DemTools on the plot; cloud in the office.

  9. Before/after capture for debris measurement and dispute defence.

Capture the day it changes. Dispute defence is a dated pair of captures.
